Leadership Programme cohorts challenge themselves…to take their leadership even further

Participants of the Bunzl Continental Europe Leadership Programme recently met in Amsterdam, Hungary, and Copenhagen.

The Programme aims to enable leaders (in country organisations and local Operating Companies) to learn to challenge themselves and take their leadership even further. Over six months, they meet three times for two to three days in different countries, a great way of getting to know the Continental Europe region and its businesses.

On 16th and 17th April, the 2nd cohort met in Amsterdam. This was a Reunion event following their completion of the Programme last year; the event allows the team to reflect on recent achievements and developments and share experiences.

The 3rd cohort, who are still completing the Programme, also met in Amsterdam in April. An external specialist, FranklinCovey, the world’s most trusted provider of leadership development solutions; delivered a session which aims to empower participants by:

– Enhancing their leadership capabilities,

– Helping them to foster relationships based on confidence and trust,

– Developing a framework for change.

Feedback on the session included:

“This last session was a rewarding experience as we have verified – again – how much a good leader must leave his/her ego at the door and should grant his/her team all the trust it deserves, quite the opposite of old stereotypes we can still hear about leaders.”

– Tristan Thomas, Management Controller – Bunzl France

“The workshop was an enriching experience for me; on a professional but also personal level – it gave me a clearer perspective on leadership and encouraged me to continuously develop myself. The intensive reflection on my skills helps me to support my team more effectively.”

– Sandra von der Ehe, Marketing & Sustainability Manager -Bunzl Großhandel GmbH

In May, the group met again – this time in Hungary, Budapest. The development programme included a ‘regional relevance’ session hosted by MD of Central and Eastern Europe, Nicolas Ingram.
And another meetup recently – in Copenhagen, Denmark – enabled the team to benefit from another two days of training and development activities which included a visit to Bunzl Distribution Denmark (BDD) and a presentation from the MD, Lars Wiegaard. The cohort also enjoyed a tour of Copenhagen Habour as well as dinner at a local restaurant.- Enhancing their leadership capabilities,
