Last week in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 33 selected leaders from 10 different countries came together as part of the BCE Leaders Network programme. The programme aims to provide cohorts with a deeper understanding and knowledge of the Bunzl Continental Europe strategy complemented by the opportunity to network, and learn from, with other leaders from across the region.
The two-day event started with Bunzl Continental Europe Managing Director, Alberto Grau, presenting his strategic vision which led perfectly into the first carousel-format workshop which focused on Sustainability, Digital and IT, People, and Own Brands – hosted by the respective European Directors/Heads of these areas (Francisco Morcillo, Eric Croon and Joris Willemsen, Marina Torrellas, Mario van den Hoeven & Lauren Mooney).
Later that day, the attendees benefited from regional testimonials from MD BCE Online, Ignacio Rivas and MD Germany & Benelux, Ronald Hoozemans. The cohort enjoyed a boat trip on the famous Amsterdam canals during the sunny evening.
The theme for the second day was Organic Growth. The day started with BCE Finance Director, George Tarratt who spoke about Acquisitions, later, attendees listened to best practice case studies from MD Bunzl Distribution Spain, Daniel Tovar.
Attendees shared their feedback on the event:
“I found it very interesting to learn about the strategy and how this is embedded in all relative sectors/pillars. It was also a great opportunity to meet other Bunzl colleagues and to exchange ideas and best practises. Very valuable!”– @Edward Jonkman – Le Roux
“It has been a fantastic experience. It was engaging, motivating and inspiring. Learning from BCE leaders directly helped me understand how I can contribute.” – Ana Grande Morelló, Quirumed
“For me, these two days have enabled me to gain a good understanding of the Group’s strategy and future challenges, while at the same time-sharing ideas with colleagues from all over Europe and developing our internal network.” – Sami Ben Daoud, Groupe-Hedis
At Bunzl Continental Europe, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to attracting and developing the diverse range of talented individuals who become part of an equally diverse and decentralised organisation. We offer a range of programmes to ensure our current and future leaders develop and grow in line with the Bunzl values and culture that underpin our diversity.
