Role Summary
As a SQL Developer you will be part of the Product team implementing and continuously improving IT solutions across Bunzl Continental Europe (BCE) with a complex architecture and business landscape. You will be managing the master data set, developing reports, analysis dashboards, and troubleshooting data issues.
You will be working in an agile manner with international stakeholders across all parts of the business, as well as 3rd party vendors and integration partners.
You will be part of the European technology team located in the Netherlands and Hungary providing IT services for over 40 businesses, in over 10 countries of Bunzl Continental Europe
The key objective of the role to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data, then process, design, and present it in ways to help the businesses make better decisions.
Primary responsibilities
As a SQL Developer you will…
- Work closely as a bridge between business and Group IT stakeholders providing data analysis services within a project or operational context
- Work closely with Product Owner to define and refine the product backlog, outlining reporting and analysis requirements together with the customer/business
- Collaborate with 3rd party vendors in translating business reporting needs into solutions
- Manage and execute data migration process
- Perform data mapping between different systems
- Evaluate changes and updates to source production systems
- Implement procedures for data handling and analysis
- Provide technical expertise in data cleansing
- Collect data, source missing data, organise data into usable formats
- Manage master data, including creation, updates, and deletion and provide quality assurance of imported data
Generate reports and analysis from multiple systems
Join us if you have:
- 3-5 years of experience in similar role or in a related field
- Experience in a complex full-cycle product information or master data management system
- Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
- Experience to maintain data models – ability to map data from various sources
- Experience in mid-large-scale projects, preferably in a multi-national environment working with external customers and 3rd party vendors
- Practical experience with data migration projects
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
- Experience with database programming languages and databases (MS SQL Server is preferred)
- Experience with reporting & data visualisation tools such as Power BI
- Experience with an API based architectural landscape
- Experience with data formats like JSON and XML
- Practical experience with Java scripting
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook)
