Job Mission

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT security team. This role focuses on providing prompt support to end-users, troubleshooting small security-related issues, and assisting with the implementation of best practices that keep our organization’s data and systems safe.

The Cyber Security Support Engineer reports to the head of cyber security of Bunzl Continental Europe, and is a member of the cyber team. The role is based in Hungary.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Respond to user-reported security concerns, incidents, and requests via email, ticketing system, or phone.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common security issues related to passwords, access controls, multi-factor authentication, malware alerts, and phishing attempts etc.
  • Guide users on safe computing practices and answer security-related queries in a clear, helpful manner.
  • Assist in the maintenance and update of security tools (Email and Endpoint protection, firewalls, etc.).
  • Document support activities, issue resolutions, and user feedback to ensure knowledge base accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior security analysts for escalation of advanced incidents and follow up on remediation steps.
  • Participate in different projects and contribute ideas for improving cyber hygiene across the organization.
  • Monitor and report on recurring issues to help prevent future incidents.

 

Required Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a cyber security or IT support role.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Microsoft Security Fundamentals, Cisco or similar).
  • Experience with cyber security tools like Email/Web/Endpoint protection, firewalls, etc.).
  • Good understanding of basic security concepts, user authentication, email security, web security, endpoint protection, and network security fundamentals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for user support and education.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Fluency in English is essential, enabling effective communication across diverse teams and stakeholders. Willingness to travel within Europe, if required, is also expected to support cross-border initiatives and collaborative projects.
