Job mission
The Communications Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the company’s communication strategy with a strong focus on social media (primarily LinkedIn) and HR-driven initiatives. Reporting to the BCE People Director, the role supports both internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with corporate values, brand identity, and HR objectives.
The Communications Manager will oversee campaigns across multiple platforms, manage the company website, ensure adherence to brand guidelines, act as a PR advisor, and organize key HR events such as local and regional Town Halls. This position leads a small team and ensures communications are engaging, consistent, and impactful.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Internal Communications
- Lead the planning and delivery of internal communications to support HR programs, training initiatives, and engagement activities.
- Manage internal communication platforms (e.g., Actimo) and ensure content is up-to-date, relevant, and engaging.
- Collaborate with the Engagement & Culture Specialist to administer communication channels and maintain digital learning platforms.
- Coordinate and deliver regional Town Hall events, ensuring alignment with company and HR goals.
External Communications & Social Media
- Manage and create content for corporate LinkedIn to enhance employer branding and external visibility.
- Ensure all communications follow and adapt to the company’s brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Provide PR advisory support to the BCE People Director and leadership team.
Website Management
- Lead the creation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the company website, ensuring functionality, accessibility, and brand alignment.
- Coordinate updates with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Monitor website performance, analytics, and user experience to recommend improvements.
- Ensure timely publication of relevant news, HR updates, and employer brand content.
HR and Cross-Functional Campaigns
- Develop and deliver communication campaigns that support HR as well as other strategic areas such as Sustainability and Digital initiatives.
- Design and execute campaigns promoting HR initiatives, including training programs, talent development opportunities, and employee engagement projects.
- Content Creation – Produce regular HR news updates and employee-focused stories for both internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and organizational values.
Leadership & Team Management
- Manage a team comprising a Senior Designer and an Engagement & Culture Specialist.
- Set priorities, oversee workflows, and ensure quality standards for all communications outputs.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for team members.
Measurement & Reporting
- Monitor and report on communication effectiveness using relevant metrics and analytics.
- Make data-driven recommendations to improve engagement and reach.
Budget Planning & Management
- Responsible for planning, monitoring, and managing the communications budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective execution of campaigns and projects.
Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in social media management (LinkedIn) and website content management systems.
- Familiarity with internal communication platforms (preferably Actimo) and digital learning tools.
- Excellent written, editing, and proofreading skills in English.
- Knowledge of PR and media relations best practices.
- Ability to adapt communications to brand guidelines and visual identity requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record in social media content creation and engagement (LinkedIn).
- Experience managing both internal and external communications, preferably within an HR context.
- Experience leading a small team and collaborating closely with HR leaders.
- Experience in website creation, implementation, and maintenance.
- Event management experience, particularly in organizing Town Halls or large-scale internal meetings.
