Job Mission

We are seeking a proactive and service-oriented IT 1st Line Support Specialist to provide first-line technical support and oversee IT asset management in our Amsterdam’s office. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting IT issues, coordinating with external vendors, ensuring compliance with IT security policies, and supporting key business applications. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for process improvement.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

First-Line IT Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide timely assistance for IT-related issues, including applications, services, and hardware.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems with the local area network (LAN) and other office IT infrastructure.
  • Engage proactively with users to identify and address potential device optimization needs.

 

Coordination of External IT Suppliers

  • Serve as the main point of contact for external IT vendors to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Monitor vendor performance and coordinate support for hardware repairs, software updates, and IT services.

 

IT Procurement & Asset Management

  • Manage the procurement of IT hardware and software, ensuring all approvals are in place.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset records, track inventory, and oversee the proper disposal of outdated equipment.
  • Prepare and configure devices for new hires and operational needs, ensuring readiness and compatibility.

 

 User Account & Access Management

  • Handle the creation, modification, and deactivation of user accounts, mailboxes, and security tokens.
  • Perform user management tasks such as password resets, session logoffs, and role assignments.
  • Ensure timely account deactivation and recovery of IT assets when employees leave.

 

 IT Security & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce IT security policies, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Ensure all devices are equipped with up-to-date security software (e.g., Umbrella, EDR) and patches.
  • Administer patch management tooling NinjaOne for Amsterdam HQ
  • Conduct periodic reviews of cybersecurity measures to identify and mitigate risks.

 

Technical Support & Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Provide hands-on support for office IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, network equipment and video conferencing systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot local IT hardware and software while ensuring alignment with corporate IT standards.
  • Manage and maintain the local area network (LAN) infrastructure and connected devices.

 

Business Applications & Interface Support

  • Provide technical support for business applications such Microsoft 365, Citrix Receiver and Oracle HFM.
  • Assist with IT-related tasks that arise to ensure smooth office operations.

 

Reporting & IT Communication

  • Generate and maintain IT reports for audits, procurement tracking, and management reviews.
  • Communicate IT-related updates and announcements to all users.
  • Serve as the main contact for internal IT-related queries and guidance.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Suggest improvements to IT processes and infrastructure to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure alignment with global IT policies and initiatives.
  • Represent IT during internal and external audits.
  • Conduct IT onboarding for new hires, providing guidance on system access and tools.
  • Support IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
  • Participate an represent Local IT Amsterdam HQ in the European Local IT and Cyber Security communities.

 

Required Experience/Skills

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role, preferably in an international or corporate environment.
  • Experience managing IT procurement and vendor coordination is a plus.
  • ITIL-4 certification is a plus.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Active Directory, and IT asset management tools.
  • Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance standards.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with users of all technical levels.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

 

Language Requirements:

Fluent in English (written and spoken) – required.

Dutch is a plus but not mandatory.
