Results are measured by two key metrics: Trust Index (‘TI’) – the average number of positive responses to the question Overall Perception (‘OP’) – positive answers to the question: “Taking everything into account, I would say this is a great place to work.”

Hedis was a family-owned business until we were acquired by Bunzl in 2017, but we were determined to keep our family culture and mindset and we’ve succeeded in doing so. Our people are our main strength here at Hedis, so the Great Place to Work® survey was a great way of testing wether people were still happy to work at the company now that it’s part of a big group. Confirming that was one of the key points to come out of the survey, along with the fact that our teams felt that the business and their jobs were secure. They were also positive about the increased diversity of the company, with people coming from many countries and cultures, and about having opportunities for internal promotion. Many of our people had been worried about being acquired by a multinational, but now they feel reassured. They know that if a company’s strategy is working, Bunzl doesn’t change it. Hedis Great Place to Work® Score was 68% in 2024.

I joined Bunzl three years ago, after over 20 years with another company, and soon discovered that it was very different.
